TiltRod Control Board
v3.0 Rev D — 21.5 × 40 mm
The board the drive runs on. Rev D pulls the magnetic encoder onto the PCB itself, so the only wires left in the unit are the motor lead and USB-C power.

Features
- Encoder on the board. The AS5600 reads the magnet in the crown gear, straight up off the board. No sensor daughterboard, no ribbon to unplug.
- Absolute angle, not step counting. Tilt position survives a power cut and a manual wand pull — the board knows where the slats are the moment it boots.
- Socketed controller. The XIAO drops into J10/J20. Swapping the radio is a pull-and-press, not a rework station.
- Everything keyed. The motor lead is a keyed JST PH2.0 — red positive, black negative — so it only seats one way.
- Status you can read. D1 and D2 are back-mounted and glow through the shell: green for power, blue for activity.
- Local buttons. On-board buttons drive the blind and run calibration with no phone, no app, and no network.
How to use it
You hold this board when you build a kit, or when one has failed and needs replacing. It sits upside down in shell A with its sensor facing the crown gear, the XIAO in its sockets and the motor plugged in. Nothing on it needs a soldering iron. Every step, in order: tiltforge.com/build.
- Slide in the motorSlide the motor in from the reel side until its shaft comes out the back beside the axle spur.
- Seat the XIAOBoard upside down, press the XIAO ESP32-C6 straight down onto its pins, USB-C port at the board's short edge. Plug in the motor lead.
- Slide in the controllerTurn the controller back over and slide it into the bay at the USB end of shell A, along the rod, sensor toward the crown. Snug fit.
- Join it to your Wi-FiJoin the tiltforge-#### network from your phone, open 192.168.4.1, pick your home Wi-Fi and enter its password.
- Add it to Apple HomeIn the Home app, add an accessory and scan the QR code on your insert card's sticker.
- Calibrate onceHold the button 5 seconds, then let go. It finds both ends by itself.
