Features

  • Sold as a matched set. Replacing one worn gear against the rest of a worn train just moves the wear. A fresh set is the actual repair.
  • Cord or wand, both in the box. The spool and the eye screw are attachments on the same worm axle. Cord blinds take the spool; for a wand, the eye screw threads into the axle's end stub and the wand hooks on. Same drive either way.
  • Fits the rods blinds actually use. Four rod adapters cover the common tilt rods. If yours is something else, generate one to print at tiltforge.com/adapters.
  • Magnet included. The encoder magnet comes with the set: one 6 mm disc, magnetized across its diameter, that sits in the pocket at the center of the crown gear, over the AS5600. Either face up works. This is the only place it ships.
  • Printable, forever. Every printed part here is in the STL set, and the eye screw is a hardware-store part. If TiltForge disappears tomorrow, you can still make one.
  • An hour, not a service call. The whole set is the cheapest part of the unit. Wear is designed to land here on purpose.

How to use it

You hold this set to build a kit or to replace a worn gear train. Every step, in order: tiltforge.com/build.

  1. Pick the rod adapterTry adapters 11 to 14 on your rod and keep the one that fits snug.
  2. Set the crown magnetPress the 6 mm round magnet into the small pocket in the center of the crown's toothed face. Either face up.
  3. Slide in the rod gearPress your rod adapter into the rod gear and slide it into shell A, meshed with the crown.
  4. Snap in the wormSnap the worm into its cradle in shell A, meshed under the rod gear.
  5. Fit the axleSlide the hex axle through the worm, press the axle spur on the motor side and the cord reel on the front. They snap onto its tips.
  6. Thread on the clutchOn the shaft at the back, stack pieces 1 to 11 in order, Bellevilles alternating. Thin nut 10 snug plus one turn, then lock it with thin nut 11.
  7. Wind the cordBlinds fully open. Wrap each side of the cord 4 turns round the reel (3 at least), the two sides opposite ways, tails hanging down.
  8. Fit the eye screwTurn the eye screw into the end of the axle by hand until the eye lines up with the wand hook.
